EXPECTATIONS/TIPS FOR SUCCESS IN 6TH GRADE SPANISH

1. Participate actively in class everyday.....listening and thinking are

action words!

2. We learn to speak by speaking.....teach your family members, including 

pets, every lesson you learn in class. As you can teach  others, you learn

the oral lesson twice!

3. We often begin homework assignments in class. I expect you to make a good

effort on "las tareas". We also correct written assignments the following

day. Be sure that your SPANISH IS FUN book is letter perfect as we make these

corrections. We take precious class time to correct, so that you may learn

from your errors!

4. Regardless of the assignment, your homework is ALWAYS to study vocabulary

and grammar 10 minutes daily. 

5. Seek out speakers of Spanish. Practice! Enjoy speaking and making new

friends!

6. Choose a family program, sitcom ,or PLAZA SESAMO (Sesame Street in

Spanish), on a Spanish language station such as UNIVISION. Watch it regularly.

You'll quickly become familiar with the plot and characters. You'll soon

figure out the dialogue! Television programs may be recorded for later

viewing also.

7. BE PROACTIVE! Ask questions for understanding!

8. Made vocabulary/grammar cards and use them to study daily. Practice!

8. Need extra help? Make an appointment to meet before or after school.
